Remember, though, they are TRACKED vehicles, so the actual ground pressure is not that high (because its spread out so much, across the entire surface area of the tracks).

The fact that we are talking about a parade to show off the nations military, and some people are concerned with the streets being able to handle these vehicles? LOL that is hilarious!

"We have a powerful military with all the greatest toys, but dont dare drive them on our cheap roads" . LOL

Yes and like I mentioned earlier, the tanks have rubberized plates on the surface that contacts the road surface, thats why whenever you see video of tanks driving on streets, they do not damage the surface.

The metal parts of the tracks only contact the surface when they are used offroad.

Stating truth does not a derangement syndrome make. It will be nothing but a big rally. He could not care less about this country except how it has enriched him and his family. What a disgrace and embarrassment he is.

The US military has not used the Sherman tanks since WW II and the 1950s.

I guess he is going to show off brand new B-25 bombers and M1 rifles as well.
Break out your wallets this is going to be an expensive tax payer project to glorify the ego of the coward in chief.

I just left a msg on my Congressman's phone to ensure no taxpayer dollars are spent on this campaign activity. Disgusting!

Places like North Korea and Russia do it, to show how impressive their militaries are, no reason why the US shouldnt do the same.

.
So you think that the U.S. should be more like Russia and North Korea?

Hi. Former armored infantry. Lived in an APC, played with tanks a lot. Tracked vehicles with rubber pads are fine on most roads, as long as you do not attempt to turn the damn things. Unlike with wheels, the contact patch is huge and inflexible.

No matter what you do, part of the track will be moving sideways when you turn. Tanks are hell on roads, unless you engineer the roads specifically to handle them.

His enthusiasm is for an America that never existed except as a campaign meme. And why do you consider him "smart"? Compared with other Presidents he's a dunce.
