Trump always says what he thinks and often what he says is what a lot of people think, unfortunately, for me, Trump often...too often wrong the ways....

But what if countries like Haiti **ARE** sh*tholes?

It's nice to have a President who tells it like it is at last. Trump was a construction guy from New York, that's the way many of them talk. And we knew that when we voted for him.

And in this case, they speak the truth.

Yet the Trump-haters continually feign "surprise" and "outrage", as they do every time Trump acts like Trump.

Haiti has had more natural disasters, it seems, per person that almost every other nation on earth. That's not their fault. The destructions and death tolls have been horrible.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...sters_in_Haiti

Thy also get massive aid, before and after. The United States is the principal benefactor, and we don't begrudge them a penny. (Where are the other countries who criticize the US for being "heartless" or "stingy"? How much are they contributing to help out?)

Parts of Haiti get rebuilt, sometimes, after each disaster. But much of the island remains poor, broken-down, disease-ridden, even years or decades afterward, despite the massive aid from countries like the U.S.

Yes, it's very tough, after the disasters they have had. But do they have something better to do than rebuild and help themselves, in the years following the latest disaster (such as the earthquake of 2010), especially with the massive aid?

Haiti is, in fact, a sh*thole. President Trump was speaking no more than the truth. Crudely, but appropriately. The Haitians are struggling to live, but not so much to rebuild. They seem to want no more than more alms from countries like America, to stave off the disease, homelessness and starvation that never seem to recede in much of the land, even years later.

There's a name for countries like that. What's wrong with the President telling the truth and naming it?

Are you kidding me. Haiti is beautiful. Have you even been there. Trump has no idea what he is speaking about.

Yes, some countries are poorer and more corrupt than others.

No, that doesn't mean it is productive or appropriate for the President to write them all off as ****holes.

You know, there could have been a much more charismatic and persuasive way for Trump to have made his point...if he was intelligent enough. He could have said that he sympathizes with them but that we can't be over-run by too many needy people who aren't able to contribute in the right ways, etc. etc. Then people would be focusing more on his policies instead of the latest way he managed to cram his foot in his mouth.

You need to demand a higher level of discourse from our public officials than that of a drunken hillbilly. He represents the natjon, so it would be nice if we at least pretended we cared.

The problem with Trump is the same problem with most Americans. He's so deeply immersed in his own $hithead of racism, that he can't perceive the actual historical truth about European imperialism and how it has had universal deleterious effects upon entire races, ethnicities, and countries. You don't require much history instruction in order to assess the negative ramifications hoisted upon many Third-World countries. Many are still rebounding from slavery and colonization.

The United States has had many more racist presidents than Donald Trump.

Let's see, there were after all the following:

1) J.K. Polk

2) D.D. Eisenhower

3) F.D. Roosevelt

4) Ted Roosevelt

5) J.C. Coolidge

6) T.W. Wilson

7) Thomas Jefferson

8) James Monroe

9) Andrew Jackson

10) Andrew Johnson

and not to mention a few others...

Racism is just another major component of our American history. Trumpism emerged from this milieu of $hit, continuing to make our potentially beautiful country into just another proverbial "$hithole"...

Just doing his level best to Make America White Again! That's the real problem with immigration. Too many people of color are immigrating...

People who want to restrict immigration this way are telling us that they don't believe in the American dream.

They are telling us they don't believe you can come here with nothing and not knowing the language and make a life, build a business, or do great things for their community through hard work and faithful service. They are telling us they are full of fear and blame the "other" for the fact that their lives are not turning out the way they thought they would.

They are telling us they are not willing to put themselves out there and take a risk the way an immigrant would to start a small business. They are telling us that they feel insecure competing with someone who arrives with nothing and is unfamiliar with our language and culture. Immigrants represent 27.5% of the countries’ entrepreneurs but only around 13% of the population.

If you can't compete with that person, its not their fault you are unwilling to work that hard - its yours.

As president, he knows that the people in Norway are much more likely to offer something useful to the United States if they wanted to come here, as compared to someone from a ****hole country with no education, thanks to their ****hole leaders. But please, DO continue the spin.

He really could've just used a different word. "Unstable" would have sufficed.

I see what he's trying to say, but come on... if you're a world leader representing your country, have a little bit of common sense and grace.
