Kennedy was talking about lowering the top marginal rate from 0ver 90% to 70%. The top marginal rate in 2015 is 39%.

The top rate capital gains was 25% in 1963. Oh the poor put upon investor class and the 15% top rate they pay!

Context. You lack it.
Oh boy, talking about lack of anything here. The marginal tax rate myth again? Embarrassing.

Default More nonsense from the Right

From the view of a Conservative, I'd say the headline of this thread is pure woo.

He would be very proud of President Obama, and in agreement with him on all issues. On the other hand, the pathetic state of the Conservative party would likely shock him to death.

You guys pretty funny trying to all identify with Kennedy when he was a Democratic President.
Labels mean nothing to me. Actions are much more important. And BTW, I never said he was a libertarian.

Now that's funny. Obama is the polar opposite of "My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."

I read a few Tea Party blogs to remind myself how crazy they are. Sometimes I think they are going to come out and announce they've been punking us all but it hasn't happened yet. Obama can be too nice, JFK would have totally called them on their hypocrisy.

Although it is extremely unlikely that the fear of governmental tyranny, which gave rise to the 2nd amendment, will ever be a major danger to our Nation, the amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic military-civilian relationship, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country. For that reason I believe the 2nd Amendment will always be important."
Remarkable statement, since the "Progressive" era had already begun, in which the "progressives" had voiced their disagreement with the Declarations reference to natural rights (unalienable rights), and they had stated a belief that the Constitution was a "living document" (Woodrow Wilson). The "progressives" believed that the Constitution was outdated, and not capable of dealing with the problems of modernity.

“Every dollar released from taxation, that is spent or invested, will create a new job and a new salary.”
It was these two concepts (proven to be true) from which Reagan coined the phrase, "trickle down."

Yep. He sexually assaulted the interns while Bill Clinton was still just a boy dreaming about his chance.

Shock Kennedy, what about Evert Dirksen, Jacob Javits, Nelson Rockefeller, Edward Brooke? Hell I doubt that William F. Buckley would recognize these folks.
