What does that have to do with John F. Kennedy?

Fixed it for JFK.

He must not have considered the possibility American corporations would layoff people here and hire people overseas and across our border. There was a time when that was unfathomable.

You know you are referring to the Party of the New Deal right? Considering the policies of real New Dealers, even the Obama administration fails pitifully by comparison. If anything, Sanders and Clinton are moving the Party back to its New Deal roots, and not much more.

I also find it interesting that for the last 8 years Republicans have been proclaiming that the Democratic Party of the 60's was the home of segregationist and KKK members so I for one am glad that you find the present identity of the Party to be unrecognizable from the Party of the 60's.

By the way, Democratic Party doesn't do purges, we leave that up to the GOP and the Tea Party. If you miss the conservatives who were prominent in the Democratic party, there absence rest firmly on the Tea Party.

The top rate capital gains was 25% in 1963. Oh the poor put upon investor class and the 15% top rate they pay!

Context. You lack it.
Did you even read his quote? "Although it is extremely unlikely that the fear of governmental tyranny, which gave rise to the 2nd amendment, will ever be a major danger to our Nation,"

Clearly he understood that the 2nd amendment was in part a provision for the citizens to overthrow a tyrannical government.

And yes, Kennedy advocated a tax reduction which is anathema to Democrats today.

Reading comprehension. You lack it.

Yeah, probably the same right wingers who hawked him into a pointless overseas war.

Nice try.

Using John Kennedy's definition of a liberal as quoted above, I am also a liberal and proud of it. In fact, his quote fits quite nicely with my libertarian beliefs.

Unfortunately, liberals and Democrats today don't even come close to Kennedy's description.

Actually JFK would never be a libertarian, he was not isolationist.

You guys pretty funny trying to all identify with Kennedy when he was a Democratic President.

Someone who cares about the welfare of the people:

their health, big proponent of universal healthcare are we?

their housing, no problem with HUD, Section 8 housing?

their civil rights, same sex marriage is on the top of your list?

Really!?!

Too funny.
