Georgia to introduce religious 'right to discriminate' against gays bill today.
Georgia has become the 11th state to consider a consider an Arizona style right-to-discriminate against gays bill.

The proposal would allow any individual or for-profit company to ignore Georgia laws, including anti-discrimination and civil rights laws, if it “indirectly constrains” the exercise of your religion.
The state bill could override Atlanta’s LGBT protections, which prohibits discrimination against LGBT residents seeking housing, employment, and public accommodations.

Practically anyone could claim that renting a gay person a hotel room, or serving them in your restaurant, is against your religious beliefs, and the bill would excuse you from any legal consequences of that discrimination.

Whatever misinterpretation of the bible it says, and if you want to hate homosexuals because you believe in the bible.

IT DOES NOT SAY YOU CANT SERVE GAYS!!!

All these bills suddenly popping up in the regressive red states is actually a good sign. It shows that they know they are on the losing side of public sentiment and are scrambling to get laws into place while the knuckle-draggers still hold power in state legislatures.

They are doomed to failure. They can't hold back the tide.

HB*1023*2013-2014 Regular Session

The Ga. bill.

I love this part. "All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed."

Impossible to know, since civil and religious customs of that time only permitted unions between a man and a woman and there was no reason for gender-neutral proclamations re marriage.

On the other hand, Jesus was crystal clear about remarrying after divorce:
"Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery."

Begs the question, are bible-thumping wedding retailers denying service to divorced persons who are remarrying? If not seems a tad hypocritical.

Oklahoma introduced bill (HB 2873), would have provided legal immunity to anyone who refuses services to gays and lesbians based on the person’s “sincerely held religious belief.”
On Monday, lawmakers in Missouri introduced a similar bill, but a measure in Ohio was put on hold.

BIBLE IS NOT THE LAW OF THE LAND. AND IT DOES NOT SAY THOU SHALL NOT SERVE.

My Liberal friends, if you can learn to think for yourselves, you can set yourselves free of the oppression of your own laziness.

the problem here is, liberals as always are frequenting their preferred news sources. Those sources like MSNBC and local stations in liberal areas are characterizing arizona's Pro-Religion amendement to their state law as "Anti-guay".

The amendement would be equal for all and is not 'Anti" anything. for instance a printer who refused to print out Westboro Baptist Church Anit-Guay propoganda would be protected for refusing to do so on grounds of religious beliefs. what part of equal under the law is not to understand?

B.S. Printers can ALREADY refuse services to orgs based on their political statement, no "religious beliefs" needed.

well bravo! that makes guay people forcing their morality on any business they choose alright then!/snark

any muslim person who does not want unclean people who eat the devils meat in his establishment, should not be forced to have them.

any restaurant that doesnt want to serve westboro bapist parishioners on religious beliefs should not be force to server them.

there, explaining logic to people who only understand dogma might have been a waste of time, but i at least feel better

Any person that doesn't want to serve women shouldn't have to.
Any person that doesn't want to serve blacks shouldn't have to.
