No, they willingly attack anything and anybody who is perceived to have insulted Mohammed or Islam:

Muslim protesters torch Buddhist temples, homes in Bangladesh - Yahoo! News

Looks like they are currently making friends left and right... or not.

I wonder how long it will be before large numbers of muslims launch counter-protests against such violent acts...

Unlike many on this forum, I have lived surrounded by large muslim communities for many years and never had a problem with anyone. Even several of my best friends when I was in my teens and twenties were muslim - we were so close that one of them invited me to their native country where my girlfriend and I spent a month living with his family. To this day, I am greeted, smiled at, and get my cheek kisses when seeing old acquaintances.

Still, I am not holding my breath. And that is very sad. How long will it take before mainstream muslims are tired of being thrown into one rather negative kettle with the nutjob extremists? How long before they stand up and distance themselves from such acts?

Do you think Omama will blame these attrocities on a movie?

I don't understand this post, please rephrase.

Islam is a religion.

The rest I don't understand. Muslims are good people who you have had the pleasure of living near, the few extremist give the rest a bad name and the majority of the muslims who are mainstream should stand up against the extremist?

I don't want to take you out of context.

I would agree, but it is a lot like the ghetto in USA in that nowhere near the majority of the people living in them are gang banging thugs, instead they live in fear of them. Who will protect the majority from the reprisal of the few? Legitimate question I think and accurately reflects a sentiment felt in Muslim nations. I too have spent a bit of time around them, although under different circumstances I'd wager.
