Gonna need to wait on those U6 numbers for August. I'd love to see if it shows an upward trend like Gallup does. Why is Gallup's number way off from the BLS's?
conservatives are so dishonest and ignorant. I mean I just looked at a Gallup chart that shows unemployment spiking in August 2011, Feburary 2012, and November 2012.
Now what did the official unemployment rate do during those previous spikes? You'd think that conservatives would be interested in knowing, but no, because they hate President Obama reality is irrelevant. They don't even bother to check, they pretend this is the first time this has happened. I found 3 examples.
Let's list the unemployment rate during those spikes in August 2011 the Gallup adjusted unemployment rate spiked to 9.3 from 8.8 in July.
What did the official unemployment rate do? It stayed the same from July and August of 2011 at 9.0.
February 2012 the Gallup adjusted unemployment rate spiked to 9.1 from 8.6 in January of 2012. What did the official unemployment rate do? It stayed the same from January to February 2012 at 8.3.
November 2012 the Gallup adjusted unemployment rate spiked to 8.3 from 7.4 in October 2012.
What did the official unemployment rate do? It declined from 7.9 in October to 7.8 in November.
Just a random point - the nation destroying policies that have sent the US down this course do not begin or end with the current president... or Bush, for that matter... one has to go back decades to find the slide towards the destruction of our nation's industrial base and middle and working classes. In the years since then, both parties have held the White House and Congress in varying mixes, and all of them have failed us while answering the call of their true masters - the elite who will gladly toss the working class under the bus to buy a second mansion or weekend yacht. Recall that both Obama and McCain supported the first Bailout - both of them were gladly willing to toss away your tax dollars to bail out the rich, despite appearing to have opposite political views. When it comes to the important stuff, both parties are identical, and not in a way that benefits your or me.
It's not "all Bush's fault", nor did history being January 20, 2009. The puppets in charge are just doing what their masters order, and even if "your team" wins the next election, it's not going to get better since none of them care at all what happens to you, me, or 99% of this nation.
