The sales you speak of are very illegal. Try being a US citizen and selling one in this nature and see what happens.
Of course our guns will be popular to Mexico. Look who boarders us and the free access they have to our county.
Some citizens of Mexico do buy them from the US. Also, an ILLEGAL sale.
As always, laws are not going to stop this. Add more, add all the laws you want, and the same problems will occur.
The answers to the problems are actually simple. Not quick, nor cheap, but simple.
Apparently "the laws" work in Mexico because the drug cartels cannot get their hands on guns from that country and therefore must by them from the US where they can get them from a private seller at an open gun show.

Kindly supply one, just one, example of where a gun found in the hands of a Mexican drug gangster was purchased at a US gun show. It should be child's play, since according to you it happens all the time.
[Editor's Note: After reviewing available legislation and other source documents, GunPolicy.org found no evidence of a provision in law to regulate this aspect of firearm policy. As some authorities enforce restrictions only in practice, the mere absence of a published legal provision should be treated with caution.]

Can you provide anything that says Mexico has more restrictive laws than the United states?

So, you are not in favor of our constitution? They have laws that would violate our 2nd amendment rights all day long!
I'd be willing to put money on it that less than a half of a % of guns in mexico came from a private seller that attended a gun show full of licensed firearm dealers.
They would get them from a private seller, most like an illegal in our county that helping them traffic guns.
Most of us law abiding citizens dont just sell them to anybody we feel.
I personally only sell to other CCW carrying citizens.
But what the heck, don't let facts get in the way of a good rant.
Perhaps something radical needs to be tried...like securing the border, going both ways.
Did you even read the link you posted ?
90% of the traceable guns come from the U.S. Fox adds in their own language that the the guns dont come from the US, but the ATF does not say that in any of their quotes. What the ATF says is that they are untracable
Quote:
Not every weapon seized in Mexico has a serial number on it that would make it traceable, and the U.S. effort to trace weapons really only extends to weapons that have been in the U.S. market," Matt Allen, special agent of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), told FOX News.
Maybe the Mexican citizens can also buy some guns from the US to protect themselves from the drug cartels who buy their guns from the US.
Many do have guns in hiding so not do they only have to fear the cartels they have to watch out for their own law enforcement. Truly living on an island.
