They have the right to ask, but Urban Outfitters has the right to laugh their backside off at the sanctimonious piety and do what they please.

The most recent "GCB" episode is more blasphemous than previous ones which included mockery with a church play, an accident with the cast member playing the Holy Spirit, and this resulted in the smashing of the church's stained glass window. Hopefully, "GCB" will be cancelled. This would be a major victory for God and all His people.

One Million Moms.com - Issue details (http://onemillionmoms.com/IssueDetail.asp?id=451 - broken link)

They have 31 pages of complaints. I skimmed the first five pages:

  • Mostly squawking about GCB
  • Sports Illustrated is "soft porn"
  • Clorox's ad: "I'm here to snake your drain" (LOL)
  • Macy's has an ad with two grooms
  • JCPenney continues to employ Ellen Degeneres
  • Modern Family shows gay people as normal, and a little kid cussed
  • Jenny Craig's current spokesmodel is Mariah Carey, who needs to put some clothes on
  • Kim Kardashian Barbie (OK, that one's priceless)
I got bored after five pages. Nothing about child abuse so far, just protests about boobies and gay people.

Maybe these moms should consider turning off the television.

It's Urban Outfitters. They sell cheap hipster clothes and steal Etsy designs from original artists. Maybe they hope teens and young adults would see the ad and think, "Oh cool, someplace that understands me." Or it could be a ploy to drum up a buzz, like others said.

One of my daughters wears clothes from Aeropostale. Pretty much all of their ads show preppy boys and girls together, sometimes arm in arm. They are not kissing but are clearly boyfriend and girlfriend. Guess my reaction.

A. OHNOES THEY ARE PROMOTING TEH SEX!
B. So what.

If this ad was not news, would you ever have known? Have you ever seen an Urban Outfitters catalog?

OMM's complaints about gay people are that they exist, that they dare to show their faces in public. I mean ... protesting Ellen as a spokesperson for JCPenney simply because she's gay? That's sad. Stupid, and sad.

I remember once walking into a store with an ad the size of the wall itself of a man and woman kissing. It was big enough and prominent enough that even I could see it (legally blind at the time). I think it was H&M. Why didn't that make the news but this lesbian couple does? Double-standard much?

As I said in the OP, that was just stupid and wrong.

I have no problem with it. People are WAAAAAY too uptight about sexuality; and for what??

Will seeing this ad result in people dying or something?

The "million mom" thing should have given it away. Just a bunch of bored conservative women (probably being ignored by their husbands in their own bedrooms) who find outlet for their own repressed sexual frustration by lashing out at those who aren't repressed.

Their kids often end up being sexually conflicted weirdos when they get in the real world, because sex has never been dealt with in mature, grown adult ways, and has been deemed dirty and taboo. The kind that cry after sex, or have to shower to wash away the sin!

This.

I'm not sure why this thread was even started. I suspect the OP didn't get quite the responses she was hoping for.

I know. I was wondering about that, too.

I guess, to be fair then, we need to keep ALL pictures of ANYONE (male and female included) kissing out of magazines and catalogs - you know, keep it in the bedroom.

Why aren't the million moms out protesting Guess? Some of their adds are boarder line pornographic.
