What’s up with these Marines lately. First pissing on dead bodies now this? Is the constant duty rotations leaving no time for common since? If these guys were in my unit I would have slapped the **** out of them.
Master Gunnery Sgt. Mark Oliva, a spokesman at Camp Pendleton, Calif., said the photo was brought to the attention of the 1 Marine Expeditionary Force inspector general in November, and he found there was no intent on the part of the Marines to identify themselves with a racist organization.
Oliva said the investigation found that the SS symbol was meant to identify the Marines as scout snipers.
That actually makes more sense. I simply see no reason to start condeming these Marines before all the facts are in.
However, if I were a Marine instructor, I would tell them: lose the damn cameras, etc. This is war, not a social media event.
Exactly what I was thinking. I know know one would ever go on any missions in my platoon with cameras, not unless they would like me to show them what the inside of the camera looks like the hard way. Jeeeez guys, stop taking pictures the civilians won't get it.
