Yes, but when a woman goes to court to demand child support be given her, it would be better if the father had a chance to have primary custody instead.
Imagine how much better it would be if the judges were to consider BOTH parents' income, both parents' ability to provide a stable home and family life and award custody based on that? A woman who has no desire herself to work and provide the fiancial support of her children should not have automatic custody.
Actually they do when custody goes to court. The issue is child custody cases very rarely are decided there.
The problem is, doctors won't sterilize young people, especially young women.
Many will not steilize a woman under thirty unless she already has children.
I just had a conversation with a young women of 32 who was so frustrated with her inability to get a doctor over these last years to sterilize her.
thousands and thousands of young women want to be sterilized and in 2012 they still do not have the ability to control their own bodies. women can not give up the struggle to have domain over their own bodies. I am told that young men have a far easier time getting a vasectomy, which is completely sexist. these women who are now dealing with the closed minds of doctors are paving the way for younger generations of women, slowly changing the public's ideas that all women want to have children.
women think we have come far and we have, yet we have a long long way to go. the election and talk of birth control regulations, along with ultra sound viewing requirements for abortion are all the more reason for women to be vocal and insist on our rights to control our own bodies.
this is 2012 america not a 3rd world nation ruled by zealots.
Life isn't fair boys....if it was....you would have a period every month, you would have to take risks to use BC like the pill, you would have to suffer pregnancy and childbirth.
Men get to escape all of the physical responsiibly when it comes to continuing the species, yet whine about their financial responsibilities......financial responsibilities that are equal to those shared by by women, BTW.

like rock, paper, scissors, uterus/womb trumps. seriously men who are serious about not paying child support or having children to support need to use better birth control, and ALL the time. I suspect the majority of men don't want to this. too much trouble.
both sexes should be able to enjoy sex even if they don't want a pregnancy. should one occur if a man's bc has failed and a child is the result? the reality of pregnancy is now out of his hands/body/control. not so for a woman. hook line and sinker the choice is her responsibility. womb trumps donation mishap.
women give birth and have children all the time that they really didn't want to have when they originally became pregnant. their CHOICE was life, they took the responsibility the man should as well. not all women will have an abortion. not all women can give their child up for adoption. women have choice because it is on our shoulders alone when you get down to it.

I know a guy right now who is trying to get primary custody and he works while the child's mother does not, and not only that, he's about to be married to a woman who also works and they will be able to provide a much more stable life without welfare handouts for that child.
Let's keep our fingers crossed that he gains custody.
You're right. Our society for a long while now has pushed for equality of women, in any sense they can. Women of today are suppose to be soooo independent.
However, they want it both ways. Women can have an abortion and men have absolutely no say if by chance he wants to keep the baby. Yet if the woman keeps it, and he just wants to walk away, he has no say and has to pay monthly for 18 years.
Then in divorce, men are the ones who have to worry about losing a house, money, and other valuables.
When your own children listen to you go on about your money, they request to stay with their mother when the judge asks them. Who is the fool?
A man I know pushing 70yrs old still speaks with animosity towards his father who ripped him from his mother at the age of 5 because he had a bigger pile of cash, a clever lawyer, and a social climbing 2nd wife he abandoned wife #1 over. He has never forgiven him for his egregious lack of character even after death. He speaks of him in terms of what never to aspire to be. The moment he turned of age he headed back to his real home. The state his mother lived in. The lifestyle he had affinity for on a country mile.

and just how can you make equal the differences? you can't. the obvious starting point for men is to make sure their sperm isn't going to cause a baby unless they are wanting one. simple. have the nads to get fixed if you feel so strongly.
