Got a non-religious argument for why this should remain illegal? Because Amendment 1 says we can't make laws based solely on religion.
A. amendment 1 says there is no establishment of a specific religion (those who wrote and voted on the amendment never would have dreamed that some liberal court would not know how to read)
B. here are your argument's even with the court's evil ruling

is that good enough for you.

We could discuss that somewhere else, I suppose. Not appropriate here.

None. There was always extensive sessions with the person in question to determine whether that was the case. Dr. Kervorkian was compassionate, not stupid

What does that have to do with Dr. Kervorkian? Nothing.

Kinda haphazard and intellectually dishonest, but I guess it'll be the best I will get from you.

SUICIDE MACHINE, PART 1: Kevorkian rushes to fulfill his clients' desire to die | Detroit Free Press | freep.com

Examining the Kevorkian suicides, the Free Press found that in clear violation of his own written standards:

KEVORKIAN HAS FAILED to consult psychiatrists, even when dealing with depressed people.
KEVORKIAN HAS FAILED to observe minimum waiting periods before helping people to die.
KEVORKIAN HAS FAILED to consult with pain specialists and other medical experts, even when the need was clearly indicated.
KEVORKIAN HAS FAILED to discover financial or family problems that may have contributed to a patient's wish to die.

it has everything to do with why "assisted suicide" should be illegal (which was what you asked me) even with out using a single argument that could be interpreted as religious.

assuming assisted suicide is not murder (and since there are certain people here who don't seem to know how to read this does not mean I think that it's not murder) If 25% of assisted suicide in a country such as Netherlands where it is legal are in fact murder according to every definition of the word then I would be very against a law that would allow assisted suicides even if we would say (which I repeat I don't) that there is nothing wrong with killing someone who is deemed to be mortally ill, in a lot of pain, mentally sound, and requests for you to kill them, due to the fact that in practice people who don't meet all those requirements have been killed.

You seem to have missed the point. He did not force his assistance on anyone. They were not his victims. They sought out his help.

We want to relieve suffering, not cause more of it. Yes, we could put a bag over our head, but that's a horrible way to go, and most of us wouldn't be able to resist pulling it off. Doctors limit the type and amount of medication we are allowed access to. A gun may not kill, but just injure all the more, plus cause our family to suffer.
A concoction of drugs made up by a professional, is the best method I can think of.
It was taped for 60 minutes....that is how he became a martyr to his cause.

You seem to miss the point do whatever you want to off yourself,I don't care, but you don't need someone else doing it for you and you don't need a law to make you feel better about doing it.

Just go jump in a river or stick your head in a bucket full of water.

As to it being painful,so what? The pain will pass and you won't remember a thing....ever again.
