Don't you have to be the custodial parent in order to file for benefits on behalf of a minor? I don't know the ins and outs of welfare having never been on it myself. Perhaps you can enlighten us?

It depends on lots of things.
They are politicans and could NOT investigate this properly. People will not re-elect a politian they do not like. Trump is not a politician "yet". He can go after Barry every day and there is nothing the Democrats can do about it.

And the more and more Trump goes after it the more ridiculous he will look. This was over three years ago when Obama went above and beyond what other candidates have done by publicly releasing his birth certificate which was verified by the state of Hawaii.
Donald Trump needs to clean his own house before he starts trying to run off on the wild birth certifcate goose chase. I want to see the immigration papers for his mail order bride (who is probably a Russian spy).

Maybe because if the woman never attempted to sign up for any sort of government assistance programs/welfare, there would be no point in going to such lengths to ensure she (her son) qualified.
