If anyone claims to be acting on any of these quoted statements and somebody is killed then the appropriate speakers should be charged and tried as an accessory to murder before the fact. Calling for killing is not a frivolity that should be excused as political rhetoric. It is an assault.
People here in this thread are complaining that nothing was done BEFORE this shooting to identify this young man as a danger and to get him treatment. So, yes, it is an important factor to point out that the mental health care funds in AZ were cut by 50%, compliments of governor Brewer.
And this guy was formerly a recipient of state funded mental care?
You're missing the point: the state raised the bar on what it takes to qualify for mental health treatments, so we'll never know how many dangerous people are out in AZ walking the streets. Schools and law enforcement can make recommendations for treatment but without the budget, the mental health department can't follow up like they could before their budget was cut by 50%.
