Bingo.

Its heartening, though - that people can be judged by their merits, finally, like Dr. King said, and what I took to heart when we learned about him so long ago.

Short version: she's a hypocritical, self-serving demagogue that, when push comes to shove, is no better than anyone else. and leaders SHOULD at least fake being better than anyone else. not a saint - but an EXAMPLE, at least, to show leadership.

oh, sheesh....

good news: 3 straight days, ZERO deaths in Allegheny County. The # of infections the last two days, though, is troubling.
Something to keep in mind - the number of tests in the last few days has increased. For example, the county reported ~830 new tests in the past 24 hours. The other '31' on March 15th was out of ~570 tests.

This is a very good point. So many people have had it and/or have it that will never know unless they get a antibody test that is actually reliable, which doesn't exist in our area yet. For all we know there are 100's a day, but this is so mild to most people, so it is meaningless to them. That being said, young people should be allowed to live and have graduations and sports, etc. Old people should be the ones that are careful and not make healthy people suffer.

Agreed. Good post. We are quarantining the healthy at the expense of the sickly and or dying.

Agreed. Even my dad is still going at almost 90, and I am getting near mid 50's and I don't feel the young should give up everything like they are doing. It is nuts!

This is the sort of inflammatory thing I am talking about. I think most agree with easing of restrictions while keeping an eye on things. Maybe some want full on "back to normal", but most are not really ready for that. The only people I have heard seeking more shutdowns are people who are blatantly trying to inflame people and people like Nassim Taleb, who is generally known for taking contrarian viewpoints to the extreme (I think he's touting trying to fully eradicate the virus via a mass quarantine). 95% of the general public, however, does not think this.
