That's under a 6 minute mile. If you are an untrained runner, at that pace, you'd be on the sidewalk coughing up a lung way before the finish.

Still, that's just the run-time of the train stop-to-stop. It doesn't take into account an average wait time for the train at the station either. Which, I'm guessing during non-peak times a person walking a brisk pace could beat the train.

It's also unbelievably easy to ride a bike from Downtown to the North Shore as well. If I had to, I'd rather do that over the train unless it was really cold/snowy or really hot. Then of course, the train is free too... people like FREE.
