To answer your question, NO. Please stay in California. We dont need anymore people moving here. There's too much traffic. Too much crime. Too much pollution. It seems like half of people here have become destitute. And not enough water. Besides, I live here and cant find a job. How did you find yours???

The stats I quoted were the most recent stats. Please educate yourself.

According to 3 TV, the violent crime rate has dropped by 17% in the first 4 months of this year when compared to the same period last year. During that same period property crime has dropped by 25% and robberies are down by 19% and the number of murders are down. What's suprising about this is its occuring during a recession which is associated with increased levels of crime. This trend is continuing from last year when they noticed that violent and property crime was down by 7%. Howevever, sexual assault had increased by a small margin. Phoenix was one of 3 major cities in the country to observe a decrease in crime.

They attribute the decline to greater community awareness and involvement. The other major factor was the police department's efforts to focus on violent crime, human smuggling, gang violence and repeat offenders. This applies to Phoenix and not the county in general. This is great news

LOL, this is hilarious...hey, when are you moving to Dallas...then you'll "free-up" some space to the OP! Then, crime will drop along with traffic and the pollution and you'll leave the rest of us some water.

I think Dallas has had far more issues with water and drought lately than Phoenix has.

I am trying to remember if this is the case. I do remember hearing something about water issues and Dallas, Denver, Vegas, and ATLANTA were mentioned. Atlanta had/is having a very serious problem with water. Phoenix, ironically, has no such issues and we often don't have enough "storage" capacity for water that passes through the valley. Capture and aquifer systems are being maintained, utilized, and constructed in order to increase the valley's water banking ability.

Just to conclude the top 25 most dangerous cities I'll posts those. I've been asked to do so...I find it interesting how many people from the midwest will claim how "dangerous" Phoenix is without knowing the facts but don't seem to know that the most dangerous cities are often in the midwest and closer to "home" then they realize.

In Collin County (north of Dallas County), there had been pretty extensive water restrictions in 2007 and 2008. This year, though, there have not been water restrictions.

Regarding the most dangerous cities list, I'm mildly surprised that Tucson did not make the cut, and I'm very surprised that Houston is not on there.

If I were you, I would stay in CA. I'm a Phoenix native and have lived east of downtown all my life except for 8 glorious years in SoCal. The ways it has changed here over the last 20-30 years is crazy. It used to be a nice place, but the traffic is horrible and the more people move here, I swear it gets hotter. Schooling sucks except at a few charter schools sprinkled here and there or the private schools. The heat is almost sickening, but housing is cheap. Someone said the wisest words to me once, they said the only reason to move here is if you make 250k+ a year. I also say that people only come here to die. Sorry to be a downer, but this place jumped the shark 15 years ago.
