Lack of impulse and emotional control got this one killed.

Only 1 shooting on March 3rd and 2 last night. Hopefully this is a sign of a downwards tick in crime after a crazy January and February.

8 shot in total throughout first 4 days this March compared to 17 last March.

Trends don't isolate themselves to small periods of time during specific days of the month. They are revealed over quarters and years. So far, the most obvious trend is that crime is going up marginally. Of course, that's only based on a little over two months of time, but certainly more relevant than measuring shootings and homicides over two to three days of a month.

That last sentence was a year-over-year comparison as of the date in question for the month to date, which is admittedly young.

But we can make similar y-o-y comparisons with January and February as well as year to date.

My worrisome sign, however, has nothing to do with shootings.

The Broad Street Line has historically been quieter and less of a sh*tshow than the Market-Frankford Line. Yes, because its cars are wider, you do get the traveling breakdancers ("No contribution is too small! Your contributions keep us out of three places: One, the jailhouse! Two, the poorhouse! Three, your house!"), but in general, people are better behaved on that line, with occasional exceptions like those teenage girls who pummeled that young Asian woman on board a train and whose mother turned one of them in when the video went viral.

I've noticed that the breakdancers have given way to random clumps of teens who smoke on board the cars (not weed, or at least it's not strong enough to smell it if it is). They tend to wander up and down the cars randomly. One time, however, several of them picked some old guy sitting in the car and began to hassle and punch him as the southbound train approached Cecil B. Moore. A few other riders did protest, but there was no active effort to stop the harassment, which ended when the teens got off en masse at Cecil B.

5 homicides last night.

Word on the street is the 3 teens gunned down in a car last night in West Oak Lane was a stolen vehicle . Apparently The owner or someone close to the owner spotted them and this was retaliation for it.

I genuinely hope this is the case and the news will include it in their coverage. Let these punks think twice before carjacking someone. These idiots believe they can and will get away with anything

Sounds domestic. I'm guessing Asian or Hispanic.
