That's because South Jersey is incredibly dangerous and nobody should move there, ya know? Ya gotta take off your rose colored glasses to see that.

I agree. 22% is not insignificant.

Wrong. More than 100 people were not murdered in Camden. That would be absurd. It was more around 55. A 0.2% and a 0.5% decrease is big for only 2 years. That adds up. If those countys don't pull it together they could lose over 3% of their populations by the next census in 2020.

A 100 people leaving an area with OVER 1/2 million people is well within the tolerance of stats. 100 people in 2 years leaving a group of over 1/2 million is 'big"... Really??

Christ why is this thread still going. I've never met anybody in real life that discounts SJ the way PA posters on city-data do.

What is PA's share of the metro NOT including the city?A straight suburban to suburban comparison is a lot more valid than including the city which to be honest i don't even really consider to be "Pennsylvania," Billy Penn's statue aside.

Philadelphia: located in the Garden State and operating under New Jersey laws since never.

But I'll play along:
2,482,988 in PA minus Philadelphia compared to 1,316,762. I'm still confused as to why this matters.

I'm not surprised you didn't recognize your own words. You make little distinction between slums in Philly and nice areas in Philly, instead implying frequently that the whole city is dangerous. Collingswood is closer to Camden than, say, Roxborough or Chestnut Hill is to a slum, yet you recommend those Jersey places over any place in Philly. Just tweaking your hypocrisy about making over-generalizations regarding safety.

And, yes, somebody would be an idiot to avoid Haddonfield because of Camden. The same holds true on the other side of the river.

Ya know?

I did.. Camden is a whole nother separate city in a DIFFERENT county then were we live.. Philly is one government, one county, one area.. Quite a difference.. Here use this link and pop in any philly zip and compare it to any other area in the burbs.. Its scary..
