It's Funky Friday for me, so it's definitely time to liven things up a bit, no?

How about Royal Wedding themed music?

I accidently happened upon it because I was up. I turned on my TV to watch the news and they were just getting to the altar.

When it was over, I mentioned to my son, "The world officially has a new princess to torture for the next few decades."

Glad to hear you like it. I'm ready for an upgrade (battery cover is loose) and I'm still resisting.

I didn't know that was possible. That's great news.

I didn't have a long train and I had roses in the lace. Liked mine better. Even DH said, OMG it's your's, so we had a nice romantic moment.
Sorry! But yours was admittedly prettier!

Aarg, those poor people in Alabama. How awful for those communities.

Hugs to them.

Mine had a high round neckline and I wore a lace mantilla. It made all the difference.

I'll join you in that hug. I saw tornado damage years ago in Michigan. One bounced right over my grandmother's house. She was fine, the house across the street got wiped out. It was on the ground for 15 miles. Mostly farmland, thankfully. There were houses that were fine on one half, splinters on the other.

I feel so much for those people.

Truly awful. They were saying the big twister was on the ground for 200 miles! Tuscaloosa had really taken their storm prep seriously too. The schools, and most offices were closed. I can't even imagine what the outcome would be if they had not taken such precautions.

I feel so badly for the people hit by the tornado. We don't get tornados in my area, but I'm still terrified of tornados. Within the past 15 years, changes in the weather patterns have caused us to get things called "micro bursts" which are strong straight winds. They're not nearly as destructive as tornados but they still terrify me when the trees start blowing horizontally. At least we have warning of when micro bursts are coming. Tornados and earthquakes have no warning whatsoever. Scary stuff.

An update on The Dress for the lace afficianados: I have a friend who is a costume designer so I was anxious to know her opinion on the dress. Especially since she is a fellow lace-lover. She told me the lace for Kate's dress was made at the Royal School of Needlework. My friend takes lace-making classes from one of their instructors so she was thrilled with this bit of news.

I just love that Kate (and probably her advisors) decided to help revive this dying art form.
