DD is about done - she has one final left next week...Hard to believe she'll be graduating from college this time next year. DS will be out in a few weeks too....then it's senior year for him - yikes.
so 2 graduates this time next year? That will be a real milestone! This school year has really flown by. DS5 has 3 weeks left, and DS7 has 5. Next year they'll both be at the same school finally!

yes - 2 graduations - May will be a busy month for us. I'm just really really grateful not to have overlapping college bills.
The school year is going by fast! Personally, I'm looking forward to summer with my kids. My job offers me the flexibility to work from home (on average) 3 days per week so that's really nice- I absolutely love the time we're all able spend together in the summer. I'm probably in the minority, but I'm actually counting down the days until they're out of school!
I like the summers too. We spend most of our days at our neighborhood pool, and the kids get to play with their friends. Sadly it's a bit warm to spend much time outdoors here apart from swimming, but we catch up on movies.
Did anyone read the Lara Logan interview in the NY Times? It's a tough read.

I've always felt that way too. I never dreaded summers. Maybe because I only have one? They are different now that he works all summer.
On that note -
I'm starting Monday at the greenhouse. Talking to her today, I think she is wanting me to work more than I was thinking. So I hope this doesn't become a "what was I thinking?" thing....

Just keep your healthy boundaries from the start. Make it clear how much time you are willing to give her.
Don't let her guilt you into doing more than you want. She can hire another part-time person if she needs more coverage.
Nope never dreaded summer either. I have however, been happy for them to go back to school on occasion - but then TBH, they've always been ready to get back into a routine by that time anyway (they may not always admit it though....).

For some families, overlapping college bills can be an advantage for getting more grant money.
My sister went back to school when her daughter started college so they could benefit from the savings of having more than one family member in college at once.
It was super beneficial when I did taxes this year to have three of us were in college last year!
I know. Hopes, you're 100% right. Hopefully I don't cave
I keep telling myself that it's only for a few months....
We are going to work out Monday how we want to do things. Thing is, she'd probably be mad at me if she knew she was asking for too much and I didn't say anything. On the other hand, I suppose I should have asked more questions before agreeing which was stupid on my part. I was under some impression that she just wanted a little help - but she made it sound today like 4 hours a day. I'll talk to her about it Monday when I go over there.
Thing is, I still have my clients all summer too! That doesn't go away. Probably just be a little quieter.
