My answer is that this is just more comfortable to me. Most of the time it is a citiknit and they don't wrinkle when I ball them up and put them into my bag.

I wear pants when I am working in the yard and on some shopping trips, but I really prefer dresses. When I was growing up we were not allowed to wear pants, because it was thought to be sinful. I was brought up in the mountains of NC. That is why I get so amused with the books written about the South and the sinful type people. Whoever wrote the book does not have a clue. We were so clean living, we squeaked.
I applaud this NCN and we think the same way here in the coastal area of NC...and your comment about Dad's overalls were not lost on me

The last time I wore a suit & tie was my USAF dress blues... But, we have some social functions coming up later this year, so I guess it's time to go out and update the wardrobe!

Seems like the last time most people here dressed up here was for a sad occasion to say goodbye to somebody at a funeral, aren't there any people who dressed up for happier occasions, like a wedding? Oh... I guess in some cases a wedding is an early funeral..

I like to dress up all the time. After 14 years in scrubs I dress up every time I leave the house. I like making my Honey's head snap when I visit him at work. And I usually wear a dress/skirt. Last time was Monday, it was nice out in Reno.

Yes, Mom would have preferred that he dress up more. She finally got him to buy a nice navy blue suit to wear to funerals when we moved closer to town. He was a construction boss with the NC Highway Bridge Department. It has been reconstructed to NCDOT since he died. Most of the bridges are built by private companies now. His crew built wooden bridges and he inspected and his crew repaired wooden bridges only. He was a rather taciturn person. (Realized I was getting a little off subject here.) He and my dh are both taciturn type men. But when they do decide to talk, people listen.

Last time I wore a dress? New Years Eve.

But ew, I NEVER wear panty hose. It's so gross and uncomfy.

In the winter I usually only wear a dress New Years Eve or if something really big comes up like a wedding or other fancy event.

In the summer I wear dresses to much more casual places.

As for funerals, I usually wear a black business suit!! None of my dresses are funeral appropriate LOL. If I am gonna spend a lot of dough on a dress, it's gonna be a sexy fun one : )
