I used to be able to talk things out with my dad. After he died in 1987, I never really
found someone to confide in. I've had to work things out for myself since then. Of course,
I talk to my wife about most things, but women don't really understand what makes men
tick. They think they do - but they don't!! I think women can confide, and discuss things
with women friends. Men are very deep, and I think, a puzzle to most women!!
Quite often...sometimes I wish I could just spill my guts out to someone (every single good/bad detail) and could do so without the person judging, reprimanding or giving "feedback" "advise" to me...just listen...I think we all need that at times in our lives...I was raised Roman Catholic and I used to go to confession every Saturday before Sunday Mass, it was a scary and horrific experience back in the day, now it is a completely different experience, you are listened to and treated gently...I haven't been in awhile, I think it's time...

I definitely can relate as there is a reason why I'm called the Chatteress ... The hardest thing about living alone and not having a close relationship with family can cause feelings of loneliness. Fortunately, I have friends in real life that I can open up with but there are times when our schedules don't mesh and I have this urge to just talk with someone.
BECLAZONE I hope you have located someone to talk with.

I'm not Catholic and now I'm curious. Movies and TV all my life have shown scenes of confession with confessor listened to and treated gently. Would you mind describing how it was back in the day?
