I'm actually hoping the "recovery specialist" does not call me back today. Seems like we need to wait another couple days at least to see where this shakes out. I have not yet received my "total" letter, nor an EB letter. My ESC profile still shows benefits exhausted, and I still see no payment scheduled for this week. From what I am reading, most people will wind up owing ESC nothing. I am concerned, however, for those folks who were lucky enough to get OFF unemployment and started jobs. I hope they are not penalized.
Same here...hopefully there will be a "total" letter and EB letter today. And hopefully a payment for this week would be nice.
It is hard for me to comprehend just how the NCESC could have the gaw to demand money back from those that are no longer collecting benefits (ie found work or exhausted benefits). Had this error not happen...most of those people (and us) still would've been collecting benefits that they WERE entitled to during those weeks. They need to just replace those weeks with benefits they were still entitled to...and accept the waivers if there are not enough weeks to cover it.

Actually from what I was told
People who are not exhausted and need to move to EB
are ONLY getting that done manually!
since it has a 2nd year listed, it needs to be manuallly inputed or wont happen
i too NEVER got a final letter-- BUT if i total up my 4 individual letters, it equals what ESC says i owe
i wouldnt wait if i were u, the longer u wait, the longer it can take to get u back on track
keep in mind, each step they input takes 24-48 hours to run and be active in the system
and some require a supervisor to do (i was told adjusting the weeks is one of those) and those supervisors have literally 100s on the desk allready!

I was told unofficially
that the ONLY people who are likely to get waived ARE those who are no longer having ANY benefits left-- not even EB
those people will most likely get waived
b/c the ESC doesnt want to have to take them to court and garnish wages
BUT those of us that have weeks to take it from, wont get waived
ALSO i expect that once the dust clears, instead of 50% deductions each week, they will just backdate the EB weeks, but who knows, and it might take a week or 2 to get it corrected....
Still nothing has changed for me. I can't really do anything either because I can't get with the lady I need to speak to so she can issue my under payment.
I emailed. .left messages. We'll see. I hope I get a call back today

I have called. Spoke to one woman, who gave me uncertain information...who also said I needed to call the recovery specialist. Called there, got VM saying they were overwhelmed and messages would be returned no earlier than the next day, left message and now waiting for call back.
I also have filed appeals for waiver via email, as instructed. I have not called my local office since that seems to be an exercise in futility and misinformation.
