So, it seems if I get accepted I do some weeks of training at Floyd Bennet Field, which is alright. I asked some garage guys and they said without friends or family at a garage, I'll just get sent wherever whenever for like the first 2 to 6 months or so.

...so...um is it really like: Mon Bx5 6am-2pm, Tue Bx7 2pm-10pm, Wed M15 2pm-10pm, Fri Bx5 6am-2pm or something like that...?
No, you will bounce, but there are rules when it comes to shifts and districts...

You will get assigned a garage during training... For 30 days you will be on a day shift at that garage.... (Day shifts are anything from 5-1, to 10-6... Most likely you'll be 6-2 or 8-4...

After 30 days most likely you'll bounce around shifts at your own location , 12am-8pm, 8-4, 4p-12a... When you do make the day shift 6-2... They can send you to other garages ... Which they can't do at night... Except they can, you just have to sign in at your own garage... So you might show up at your garage at midnight, and by 12:15 your on your way to another district...

Just get ready for some movement for awhile...

You'll learn the board and the shifts and stuff as you go:.. The. Board could be confusing at first but you eventually learn it

If you go to a garage with a large amount of night signees, you might keep from bouncing too much. There's guys that came on that maybe only had to do 1 or 2 round robins in the past few years.

Or you can go to a garage short on night signees and sign nights, and you might be alright too.

It varies garage to garage.

Things like the daily schedule, vacation picks, days off etc are hard to explain since it will be unlike any job you've ever had before. I'd like to know more about that 2-10 shift at M15 though. Sounds like a sweet gig.

Is there any map or list showing the name of each garage and location?
