For those concerned with BP, below is a link with some tips on how to lower your BP before the exam. Eating things with potassium such as bananas or drinking coconut water will help lower it in hours. Just dont over do it with the coconut water it can literally send you to the hospital for low BP if you drink too much, was actually on the news recently for happening to someone.

Thank you chrisvosten, very helpful. Only tip I would give, which I did, is after hearing get on E train to Court Square and transfer to G to Greenpoint. Go sign in and fill out paperwork for the xrays. I was told it was a 45 minute wait even though it turned out to be about 2 hours. After you sign in, go back to Greenpoint. There is a Quest next to the McDonalds on the corner. It was empty, I was in and out in 15 mins. Then I went back and waited at xray spot. I was done by about 1:45 PM.

Sooo. Medical was not that bad. It was a lot of waiting but I got it all done in 1 day. Yes 1 day lol. 3 of us teamed up and got **** done. We split money on par king garages and lunch. Teamwork!! Lol. I suggest you guys going do the same.

As for the medical process was not that bad. It's pretty straight forward. You go in, they send you upstairs, fill out paper work, go pee and take breathalyzer, head downstairs, do physical, vision and EKG. Your gonna be waiting in the waiting room with guys already on the job and hearing their prospectives and in and outs on the job.

After you finish all that you go to Hearing on Madison Ave (take the train) then head to Quest diagnostics around the corner then xray in greenpoint (also take the train). That's it your done. We started at 6:30am and finished by 5pm. Everything done.

Physical is straight forward, They check your eyes, throat, check for hernia, check reflexes, ask you basic health questions, do you smoke ?, take any meds ? , (regular physical ****). If you said you had surgery in your should or legs they make you do little excerises to make sure you can move and workout whichever part of the body you got surgery in.

Hearing test takes literally 45 seconds. Seriously!!!! (Painless)

Xray at greenpoint is also pretty fast. They take a total of 4 pictures. Chest front / chest side/ lumbar spine on back and lumbar spine on side. (Painless)

Blood is straight forward. It's a blood test. (Painless)

EKG takes 5 minutes (painless)

They say someone got DQ'd on Monday (the day I went) I just don't know who. He supposidbly blew 0.001 on the breath test.

Don't come in a suite. One guy came in a suite and he regreded it. People on the job were roasting his ass. Come in sweats or whatever.

Be on time!!!!

Oh and when you leave the physical to do blood, hearing and xray, make sure you do hearing first. It's right up the street on Madison.

If you gonna tell them you take meds make sure you bring the bottle and any paperwork.

If you want to be ahead of the game I hear they take recent chest and lumbar spine X-rays. Make sure it's chest front and side and lumbar spine on your back and laying on your left side.

Ok I'm officially done with the medical in one day! Started at 6:30am and am just heading home now.
Some thoughts:
Nurse confirmed BP has to be at or under 140/90. I just made it by the skin of my teeth!!! I told her I was nervous about it and she couldn't have been sweeter. She gave me time to sit and relax, helped me breathe deeply and even told me to pray if I'm religious! Lol. The. Once I was calm she took it and I literally just made it under 140!!! It helped that I didn't eat or have coffee before the BP test for sure. Once I got tested I drank a huge coffee to celebrate lol.

All in all a long day but a very good one. Enjoyed running around the city with the other guys.

I'm happy I am all done and can now just sit back and await results even tho when I left the physical they said I was good there. I just need to wait for blood and X-ray results.

Good luck everyone else going for their CDL!! Hope to see you guys soon when we get the good word!

Well my friend got flagged for his blood last year and he had to go to a Hematologist. He ended up getting th job after going to the specialist and getting the OK from him.

In specific they said his blood was really thin which can cause someone to bleed out from bad cuts.

Yeah you never know what they find on the medical. They've found diabetes, cancer, all kinds of stuff. Sometimes their DQed, sometimes they're ordered to get some tests and come back
