Are you entered in this StuyTown lottery? It closed last year, March 31, 2021. Updates documents tend to be more of the same ones that were asked for the first time. What's the current wait on a 2 bedroom apartment? There is no simple answer to that question, but it will likely be longer than you want it to be. Having a low log# tends to shorten the wait.

For anyone waiting for a 1-bedroom, I spoke with the lottery office today and the news isn't great. There is currently no inventory, and there is no estimate for when more will become available. Could be tomorrow, could be months from now. Looks like we're going to need to wear our patient pants for awhile longer!
For reference, I am log 15xx and had originally been asked for paperwork last October, was asked to resubmit my paperwork at the beginning of July, was asked if I had any pets in mid-July, and was informed that my application was ready for final processing last week. It was confirmed for me today that I'm at the top of the list for an apartment once they become available again, there just aren't any available.
So the wait continues. It's crazy how differently the 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom lists are moving!

Am waiting on a 2 bedroom, am hoping for a Peter Cooper Village 2 bed/2 bath, 1211 sq ft! Otherwise, they will give me a Stuy 2 bedroom which ranges from 925-980 sq ft. I live on the property already paying the market rate, so this will be my forever apartment for sure.
Wow - what a 1 day roller coaster! So yesterday I received the disqualification email, and went into full on panic / anxiety mode. I had not contacted anyone via phone or email since receiving the receipt of documents email a month ago, and I more than made up for it in the last 24 hours. Calling over and over to reach someone, leaving numerous voicemails with both the general number and my specialist, copious emails, stopping by the lottery office, and finally today writing a long appeal and backing it up by resending all of the materials with the time stamp of when I originally got them in.
Just received this from my specialist:
"Hello Mark:
I've received your documentations. It was a system error from our end. You are not DQ'd. Please disregard that. I will be starting on your file this week, If I need anything else from you. I will contact you.
No further action is required at this time."
So yay! Back on track and I can put down the bag I was hyperventilating into. Thanks for the help and advice! This group is invaluable.

I am so at the end of my rope here. My lease ends this month and I have a sublet for the month of September but after that i don't know what I will do. It's really hard to make an informed decision when you have absolutely no information.
Does anyone have ideas about who else we could contact to get an update on when or if more 1 bedrooms will become available? The specialists clearly aren't able to provide any helpful information, and I just wonder if there is someone out there who can.

I'm in the same situation as you, with a 31xx log number as well. When I spoke to Syed last week, he mentioned they've reached the early 2000's on the 1BR wait list but didn't have a timeline on when they might reach my log number. I sent my documents in March.
I know that may not be super helpful, but if anything know you're not alone! This process has been super stressful (especially for those looking for a 1BR). My lease is up in October so hoping something comes through by then.

For those concerned about the "Student Letter" required for each student, know that they realize that schools are not in session. I asked if sending in a recent official Report Card from the DOE would be sufficient. Skyler indicated that as long as it was including 2022 that it would be sufficient.
So we are pretty certain that we have all our documents in now. Just waiting for Ms. Wentt to return and hopefully we will be on track.
As a side note: be patient with the Stuytown Lottery staff. They are working their asses off. This lottery was poorly implemented from the Administrative perspective and they are getting hit from all sides with demands. This is super stressful for everyone involved. And it shouldn't be like this. Just try to take deep breaths. The staff there knows how overwhelming and complex this process can be and they will do backflips for you if you treat them with respect.

I just called the office and Ms. Pryce is out of the office until Monday. Skylar told me my file might be with the leasing agent but, they have no idea when I am getting an offer.
I called the leasing office (from the ST website) and they transferred me to a lady (I didn't catch her name) and she said she has no idea also. She didn't even ask for my name or log number. I told her I am going on vacation next week and she said - "Enjoy your vacation. Have a pina colada and relax."
