Ok so I was basically caught doing 95 mph in a 45 mph on GSP. First of all, anyone who drives on GSP south of mile post 90 regularly knows that the so called construction(hence the 45 mph speed limit but my ticket doen't have a check on construction zone) has been going on for in excess of 6-7 years. Now, I am not trying to make petty excuses for me speeding. I checked on nj dmv website and it is a 5 point violation. I also got a speeding ticket last year which was for 2 points. I didn't get any lawyers and just paid the fine online at that time. Now, with this violation, my point total goes up to 7 points. I know I need to get a lawyer and I am gonna have to pay heavy fines. Anyone know a good lawyer in Manahawkin area dealing with speeding tickets? Also, anybody having a similar experience or just plain ol' looking for good advice on what I can do or say talking to prosecutor or even the judge for that matter for bringing down point to may be even on my/their best days to 0 or 2 points?
95mph is a ridiculous rate of speed no matter what the speed limit says. It's people like you that put everyone else's lives in danger. If it were up to me I wouldn't charge you any fines, I'd have you locked up.
I am surprised you only got 5 points. You could have got a careless/reckless driving ticket as well. - Don't forget in a construction zone points are doubled. You also are going to be happy when you get your new driving insurance quote. Expect it to go up by at least 30%, enjoy the ride.

I'm assuming the OP is young.
My friends & I at a young age would get "profiled" by cops because we drove fast & dumb and spent lots of money on surcharges, tickets & court fees. Towns make fortunes off of dopey new drivers. Learn how to drive safely and intelligently at a young age & you'll save lots in money & aggravation.
The judge is not going to look favorably on that no matter what you say, short of you being able to prove a serious emergency was happening. (like your pregnant wife was in the car and about to give birth). That said, I'd still get the lawyer.
Additionally, 95mph is rather stupid in general, it's grounds for a huge speeding ticket even if it were a 65mph zone.
While I don't have some sort of moral opposition to speeding and think many speed limits are too low, going 50mph over the limit on a busy road, is pretty dangerous to everyone unless you have some sort of racing background.
Talk to a lawyer, be prepared to grovel, but most of all -- slow down.
