IT'S FINALLY HERE! this weekend is the 3rd annual poker run in beatty aaaaaaaaaannnnnnddddd it's a whole new course this year
the course is designed for 4x4 vehicles, atv's & side by sides. not for dirt bikes or 4x2 vehicles!
fri 10/14, from 4-7pm
show off your 4x4 at the vfw post (300 w main st in beatty)
sat 10/15, from 7-9am
pancake breakfast at the vfw post
sat 10/15, from 8-10am
poker run registration at fluorspar rd (basically across the street from beatty's shoe tree)
sat 10/15, from 3-6pm
dinner at the vfw post
$25 per person, free if you're not interested in playing poker & just wanna sightsee (if you want dinner, it'll be $10)

we've got some exciting new growth coming to town! no opening dates have been announced yet
jack in the box - they have purchased a piece of property across the street from smiths. no ground movement has happened yet, but i know they are working on permits/paperwork, etc
china a go go - they are moving into the albertson's shopping center, a couple of doors down from the ups store. if you remember where papa john's was, that's where they are going.

family dollar - 2 locations, one on the north end of town & one on the south end of town. while i believe the north & south ends of town are sadly neglected when it comes to stores.....i detest the idea of MORE cheapo stores coming to town. we have more than enough of these kind of stores already.

majority of our activities happen during the fall but there are handful of things happening during the spring:
the balloon festival happens late february
donkey basketball in march
biz expo is april
there's quite a few antique car shows during the march - may period
wild west extravaganza is in may

I may be able to come in April but definitely by May. People are not kidding when they talk of the snow here & I don't drive in snow or in the dark. I use online delivery a lot in the winter.

va clinic has officially opened! it is located directly next door to the hospital on lola lane
Pahrump Community Based Outpatient Clinic - VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System
china a go-go has officially opened! it is located near the ups store in the albertsons shopping center. hours are 10am-9pm. i've heard a few co workers raving about the food & portion sizes, but i haven't tried it quite yet.
sally beauty supply is coming soon! the little sign in the window says grand opening dec 19. they are located directly next door to panda express, in the old credit union location. they should do very well here, the only competition is walmart.

there's a new bakery coming to town! they are located in the strip mall on the corner of basin & humahuaca - between mom's diner & awards plus. not sure when it'll be open but i hope they do well. we've had a few bakeries come & go here in town. not sure if the others closed because of location? not enough business? prices were too high?

and lastly, the rebel on the corner of basin & hwy 160 has officially changed to an arco station. we have other rebel stations here in town, not sure if they plan to change over? the "coming soon" signs went up thanksgiving weekend, they've been painting the pump area this last week & today they installed the new digital signage.

What's the difference in temperature and humidity between Pahrump and Las Vegas? Is it colder and more humid in Pahrump? Or about the same?
