PS #2. It was Charles Esten's FIRST TIME at the NEW Grand Ole Opry! And he shared it with ME!!! (He played the Opry at the Ryman in November)
You will have to fight my boys and me for Deacon! \
I saw him at the Opry/Ryman and he was good.

As for the plot line, we just got back from Fat Bottom where this exact subject came up.

My thought is that Daddy doesn't know yet about the divorce request so when he finds out, he will not allow it to happen (remember, he knows about the financial shenanigans and can find a way to put Peggy (Kimberly) on the skids if he wants. Also, Deacon is about the forbidden and the chase. If he ever got what he wanted, he have to kill himself. Show over. So I wouldn't count on them getting totally together any time soon. Juliette - might she find herself pregnant? That would throw a wrinkle into everyone's plans.

Remember the basic story plot - hero, antagonist, object or person for our hero to overcome.

I thought it had already been renewed?

I wish the networks would catch on and return to the old schedule where they didn't take 6 weeks off in Dec/Jan and then try to come back with 2 new shows and 2 reruns.

So goofy to think that new TV shows do 22 to 25 episodes in a full season but shows in the 60s would air 30 to 40 episodes for a full season. Gilligan's Island did 98 episodes in 3 years; the Dick Van Dyke show did 156 episodes in 5 seasons; I Love Lucy did 161 episodes in 6 years. Compare to Friday Night Lights that ran 5 years with only 76 episodes includes only 13 per season for Seasons 3, 4 and 5.

Maybe we can all go in on it together? Say $100,000 each? Just need 26 other people . . .

Cool that you are going to see Deacon. Hoping maybe he'll get some more "Nashville" types to join him?????
That house is also used in a Rascal Flatts video.

Ok, who thinks the male casting has been a bit below par? Really besides Deacon, Powers Boothe (who has been strangely absent for a few episodes), and JD Souther, they all have seem to be miscast. Thoughts?

I always thought the guy who plays Rayna's husband seemed like a fish out of water. Maybe he's supposed to be a Yankee . . . . I like Claire Bowen's writing partner . . they really SOUND wonderful together. Her rock boyfriend looks/sounds the part but not much chemistry. JD Souther was SUCH a spunk in his day. Charles (Chip) Esten was kinda geeky goofy looking without his stubble. But when he sings . . .

I could do without Avery, Scarlett, and the guy who just moved in with her (can't remember his name). None of them really add that much to the show IMO. I know they are trying ot fit it all together by Scarlett being Deacon's niece, but other than the occassional mention of that, it's almost like two seperate shows.
I like Scarletts's character okay, but she's hard to understand and a little mousy in personality. I think I would like her a lot better if they gave her a different story. She one of my favorites when she sings.

You have a point with Scarlet's story being kinda not connected. But not everyone in Nashville is a big star like Rayna and Juliette so I guess it's to show the struggling artists who are all over this town. Claire Bowen (Scarlet) is on the cover of Nashville magazine this month. Her accent is quite thick but she's from Australia so probably it's easiest to sort of over-do it a bit.

I still hope it gets renewed and that they continue to film it locally. I would think the occasional appearances the actors make at Tootsies, and the Opry help the show?

It only has 1.5 bathrooms?

So much for 26 people sharing it.

Aw,the Scarlett/Gunnar storyline is my FAVORITE!!!

I was sad to see them cut Liam out already because I really loved his chemistry with Rayna.

Both Liam and Gunnar are SO handsome, and it's funny how there are so many foreigners! The guy who plays Gunnar is British, Liam is Dutch, and Scarlett is Australian. But I've always heard that Brits do the Southern accent better than anyone (i.e. Vivian Leigh).

And they need more Powers Boothe, but they need to put him in more scenes around Nashville. Power broker guys like that are never at home. They're always out at luncheons, golfing, in civic and charity meetings etc.

I'm not sure Liam is out. Wasn't he show Wednesday night in the previews?
