The Wolf of Wall Street...wow. I wasn't expecting so much drug use, sex, and topless and nude women...not that I am complaining because I am not. I was blown away at the nature of that entire culture and not about the drugs or sex but stealing money and chronic lying. I'm even more blown away that the main character (already forgot his mane) is getting paid to be a motivational speaker! He's a con-man.
Far from the Madding Crowd (which I always erroneously thought was "Far from the Maddening Crowd")
Beautiful movie. If you like period pieces of this ilk, I imagine you'll like this one, too. (Although I couldn't help thinking that she would have saved herself and everyone else a lot of heartache if she'd gone with Bachelor Number One the first time. I guess it takes time sometimes, however, to learn your own heart.)
Watching "Miracle" about the 1980 US Hockey team's struggle to win the Olympics--
if you have seen the movie, you know one of the most inspiring scenes happens about halfway through when the US team played exibition game vs Norway and totally juked it...
their coach Herb Brooks was incensed at lack of commitment--
he made them stay on the ice for like 2 hrs after the loss until finally Mike Eruzzone, the captain, when Brooks is asking all the players at rest times who they play for--
FINALLY Mike says he plays for the United States of America--
I cry every time I see it--
well, this showing on CMT where commercials are more important than any movie--
they cut the scene...
I could not believe it--
went right to the scene rolling the airplane down the icy runway after the moose was hit--
they choose to leave that in and omit the coming together moment---
totally idiotic move...
just blew my mind...
now I am wondering what other excellent part they will excise to pad w/ads...
