"Good Neighbors", a thriller with Scott Speedman. Just boring.

Half of the original Superman but I gave up when it was skipping and stalling during the scenes that Superman is discovered in Metropolis. I wasn't entertained by it.

Pulp Fiction (1994), on Netflix. Saw it when it came out and 20 years later seems more entertaining than before.

The Match Factory Girl. Finnish/Swedish film on Hulu Criterion is a must.

In fact most of the Criterion selections are must-sees. Amazing what was done in some of those films back when there was little technology.

Evening all!

We watched a couple that we'd ordered from Amazon.

A Separation. (An Iranian film with English subtitles.) Normally, I don't like movies with subtitles, as I'm visually impaired, but this one was certainly worth sitting close to the TV to watch.

What struck me most was the overall level of basic civility, honesty, and perceived duty to GOD and family. Their personal moral code is far more a part of their every day culture than can be observed in 'The Western world', which is what I too noticed during the time I spent in the middle and far east.

An extremely provocative film, it'll get you thinking about your own morality, or at least that's what DH and I found. One of the best human dramas from anywhere of late. 5 stars!

Next, we watched Ordinary People, a classic you've probably all seen (I think it won best picture at the Oscars a while back - not sure). It stars Donald Sutherland, Mary Tyler Moore, and Timothy Hutton.

Again, another deeply moving family drama - this time without subtitles, LOL - with outstanding performances by all three above-mentioned actors. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it.

Both of these movies are now available in Blu-ray from Amazon, and they're surprisingly inexpensive, even with the shipping, which is free in the U.S., but not for we poor folk in Canada!

Love to all,

Mahrie.
