Thumbs down.
I loved, loved, loved the book, cherished every word and recommended it to everyone I know. But the movie was a huge letdown. Not the actors' fault, they gave it their all. The book's author, John Green, is a master of his craft, a consummate wordsmith. That just didn't transfer to the screen. Also didn't like the plot changes re Peter Van Houten.
On the other hand, I thought Divergent worked way better as a movie than as a book.
The life of three parents who have all shared the loss of a child. Motives are not what they seem and sanity is in short supply in this thriller.
Billed as drama/horror/thriller and I got none of that. I didn't understand the movie. There were a couple of scenes that weren't explained or tie-up, nothing. Like their sole purpose was to confuse the audience. Not cool.
Taken 2 pretty intense like the first one and good acting.
