Saw “Judy” Renee Zellwigger who was good
Thought it was pretty superficial script—covered all the bases—abused by the studio system that gave her the addition that killed her, no supporting family, loved her kids but chaotic home life—
The flashbacks were accurate from what I have read but I didn’t care for the girl actress
It was interesting that Garland was portrayed as a very “normal”/unpretentious person at times—went home with two gay admirers at the stage door one night
Little about her relationship with Liza Minnelli and why she had so little money
She was married to Vincent Minnelli who was very successful director
It would have been interesting to get more info into her financial wasteland...

Saw “Downton Abbey” movie
Interesting—had to be more period comedy since it couldn’t really start any new story lines
Likely there will be a sequel because this seems to be pretty popular
There are various subplots but it is mainly a period comedy—not another “Gosford Park” unfortunately
The same actors who couldn’t really act in the series didn’t improve
Imelda Staunton proves how good SHE is with her new role
Maybe she will be around in the sequel
They are still holding to the idea that the gentry was a positive influence on the lives of the working class
I just thought how many of the characters would wind up in WW2...
The image of “there will always be a Downton” was pressed pretty hard...

Just watched the "Departed" on a flight over the weekend. The one from 2016 with Jack Nickleson and other great actors.

What a great movie it was with several plot twists. I actually came to a different conclusion on the ending after this last viewing. I think Mark Wahlberg's character was also working for the Irish Mob and he had to take care of the last rat.

Saw Angel has Fallen yesterday. I enjoyed it. There is, apparently, an additional scene that plays shortly after the credits begin. Unfortunately I was close to the exit and left before seeing it. Anyone else see it and can clue me in (add a spoiler alert in your post) Can't find any definitive answers on the web.

"Us" love a horror movie, but this was very disappointing.

Last weekend we watched "Jackie Brown", which we had not seen before. Samuel L. Jackson is always good, but it didn't have enough to really get me involved in any of the characters. I did like the bail bondsman, though.

The previous weekend we watched "John Wick 3". I know there are people who liked it, but it was very mechanical. Not involving, nothing that made you think he was really in danger, or to get your heart going.

So what you left her there?

I shot her.

You shot Melanie?

Twice. In the parking lot.

You couldn't talk to her?

How could you talk to her?

You couldn't just hit her?

Maybe but at that moment I don't know.

You shot her - twice? Is she dead?

I I I... pretty much.
