Olive Kitteridge miniseries. Requested the dvd from our library and was first in line to get it. Loved the book. Starting out just fine. Fine cast: Frances McDormand, Richard Jenkins, Zoe Kazan.
Spoiler
Bill Murray also comes into play in part III and IV
I really love this movie but I cannot stand the music used in the soundtrack...
I would pay money for someone to overdub a better soundtrack and leave the other sound/dialogue alone
Trying to watch “Untouchable” on Hulu—documentary about Harvey Weinstein...
Hard to take because I find all the women credible—even the former Miramax employees who found out about his actions admit he was a serial rapist/abuser...
So far only one employee quit after finding out...
That is (for me) accessory after the fact crime and the ones w/direct knowledge —like his brother Bob—should be charged...
They KNEW it was not consensual...
The Golden Glove (German: Der Goldene Handschuh) is a 2019 German thrillerdrama film directed by Fatih Akin. It was selected to compete for the Golden Bear at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival.[1] The film is an adaptation of Heinz Strunk’s eponymous novel and tells the story of the German serial killer Fritz Honka who murdered four women between 1970 and 1975 and hid the parts of dead bodies in his apartment. The Golden Glove is named after the pub in the red-light district of Hamburg where the defaced alcoholic Honka met his victims. The Golden Glove is the first film by Fatih Akin to receive an 18 rating in Germany.[2]
It's dated and the plot is nothing fantastic, common enough, something of Perseus revisited, but it's a fun escape for 75 minutes. At least this villain was kinder than Ming.
Paterson, directed by Jim Jarmusch and starring Adam Driver. I thought it was good, and if you like Jim Jarmusch you are likely to like this. The one weakness was that the character of Adam Driver's wife seemed infantile.
The Hate U Give. I liked the novel when it came out a year or two ago and I think the movie was quite good. My wife thought the setting looked too bright and clean. Still worth watching.
