10 NHL games are on tonight and I can't watch a single one on my basic cable package, and I'm not paying for ESPN+ to do so. Well, while searching through the channel guide, which I rarely ever do, I came across the movie Love & Basketball (2000), a movie I have always liked.

Thank you! After having a page almost all to myself, I was wondering if people had stopped watching movies.

Well, it bears staying with it. During the reality show phase, I was about ready to throw in the towel....if I did that but I hardly ever do. Once the action kicked in, however, it improved. Say a 7.0.

Hatton Garden: The Heist

Sub titles would have helped for the dialogue is hard to follow at times. It's watchable, hardly exciting, and while these seem to be nice old men, one must remember they are crooks. An interesting thing is the credits for it seems alot had their hand in various parts all over the flick, from acting to catering to special thanks. Say a 6.0.

I gode og onde dager (The Trip) (2021). Great acting by Hennie and Rapace. Wirkola is a skillful director.

Leon: The Professional. Natalie Portman was 12 years old when she portrayed Mathilda, so there is already a pervasive ick factor going on here. Luc Besson directed this one, and seeing how he was married to his earlier ingenue (Milla Jovovich), who quite resembles Natalie Portman, elevates the ick factor. Here's Milla as a young girl:

However, the movie also had Jean Reno, Gary Oldman (a bit of scenery-chewing with him), Michael Badalucco, and Danny Aiello - and there was quite a bit of symbolism woven into the storyline which made it worth the watch.

It isn't exactly Lolita, but its impossible to forget that the heroine is a sexualized 12 year old.

The Undertaker and his pals

It's a bit more forward and direct than Comedy of Terrors but it's fun, in a gory sort of way. A 6.8.

I watched Cloverfield. I know, maybe I'm the last person on earth who hasn't seen it yet. But anyway, now I have.

It was pretty good.
