A good epic, romanticized (and G rated at that) telling of history, with a degree of poetic licence .....or at least the history I was told. It is long but it keeps one involved and the photography is wonderful. Once one gets into that it is romanticized, at least, then it is much easier to get into. Say a 7.8.
They dilated my eyes this morning so this has been a day of nothing to do but watch TV, so it has been a double feature night.
Nice action movie with a heck of a body count and with great photography.....but that's about it. The gun tactics don't make sense, the experts in the spy field are making crucial mistakes at critical points, and it is tough to follow the story. The acting is decent at least but then it really falls off toward the end as if they needed to end the movie and could no longer fall back on action. If you like bang bang toys that never run out of ammo, it is there but otherwise......a 3.6.
Okay, from the 50s tv show but marketed as a movie. I guess it could be the teaser "cartoon" before the main flick. SHORT but good....for its time.....a 5.6.
On the start up, it seemed like an old human misery type of flick. The ground work is decently laid out, however, so one goes through a good portion of the flick wondering who is fooling who. A 6.
I get the impression that this was shot in segments under different directors because it starts off decent but then gets to a point in the story where the quality drops off the deep end. Sigh, just another flick where it has so many gaps, it is best just to sit back and enjoy without thinking about it. Still, for what the director may have thought was clear doesn't always cross over to the audience. A 4.5.
It is always "nice" to see our hero get the rug pulled from under them even when we scream, "How could they?" but in this case, it seems maybe there is a reason to. A 7.8.
Just watched a movie someone here recommended called “Beckett”. An action thriller film made this year. Pretty good, takes place in Greece. On Netflix.

When you see Richard Lynch's name in the opening credits, you know it is going to be fun! Good, ax swinging, fur clothing, swashbuckling, leather thong fun! And all done without that much nudity (just a small background scene of breasts bouncing unrestrained). A 6.7.
It's a good shoot them all down, blow them all up 90 minutes where they do show us that they bleed, too. A 6.
