I make a great living in the middle of a "tourist" area.

You have a bad attitude toward the entire State, so just go to Arizona and hopefully you will find what you are looking for.

The reason I ask is.....I'm origanally from Cadillac (50 mi's So, of TC). I remember visiting the dunes when we went up to TC to pick cherries.

I hear they're making some good out of the old State Hospital. man does that thing bring back memories.

We live in Norton Shores (greater Muskegon) and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
Just a note for anyone planning to visit Lake Michigan beaches this summer. TAKE THE WARNING SIGNS SERIOUSLY.
The past couple of summers, we've seen the orange Coast Guard choppers heading to the lake and we knew a tourist had been pulled out by the undertow (or rip tide).
Please understand, Lake Michigan is a HUGE body of water. Check the swimming flags and the weather forecasts before swimming out into the lake.
Not all the people this has happened to are from out-of-state, it also happens to "inlanders".

That little foot bridge I posted a photo of the other day had some traffic over it I can honestly say I have never seen before this morning. Just happened to be at the right place at the right time.

Then one went down the bank to the rivers edge right across from where I was sitting and decided she needed a drink.

The snow is about totally gone now and they are going to start raising the water level in Hamlin Lake back up to Summer levels soon. Kind of odd standing where I usually have to float in either the canoe or my boat, or wade out into water.

Saw this along one of the trails in the Park and thought what a good graphical example of the end of one season and the start of another. A broken cross country ski pole basket laying on the edge of the trail. The green starting to poke up around it looks good after a long very white winter.

All these photos were taken today, 24 March 2009 at the Ludington State Park by yours truly.
