From several posts I've read on various sites, she's more hated than liked.
I'll never understand why she allowed Covid patients in nursing homes. What she did was horrible.

Ditto here. I just drove past an "Impeach Whitmer" sign on my way home from the grocery store today. People where I live consider her to be more or less a female version of Governor Cuomo, although to her credit, she hasn't sexually harassed anyone yet that I know of.

Governor Whitmer never did mis-handle Covid19 in nursing homes.
Rather to the contrary.
She did all she could to protect nursing home patients.

Those were just purely political attacks.

Governor Whitmer never had orders in place to move people out of nursing homes should they become Covid19 positive, nor did she have any orders requiring nursing homes to take them in from other facilities or from their own homes.

In Michigan, we were able to find some possible facilities to place Covid19 patients, that were partially equipped, however, there was NO available staffing for them.

Here are a few of Gov Whitmer's public statements:
"A facility must not accept the return of a COVID-19-positive resident if the facility does not have a dedicated unit or regional hub meeting the requirements of this order."

A GOP bill was passed to set up separate Wuhan style temporary hospitals, however, that couldn't be accomplished, & here were Whitmer's statements regarding the GOP bill:
"Instead of protecting seniors, this bill would require the state to create Covid-19 only facilities, forcing hospitals and many nursing homes to send Covid-19-postive patients to such facilities without any requirement for consent, doctor approval, or notification to the patient or their family." "The legislation fails to explain how such facilities would be staffed or paid for, or how frail residents would be protected during the potentially traumatic transfer from one facitlity to another."

The main problem, though, was a major lack of abilitiy to staff facilities with nurses and doctors to care for the sudden onslaught of pandemic patients. I was in the hospital in Ann Arbor during a very bad Covid19 month April 2020, and saw nurses struggling with rearranging space for ICU patients as all 32 isolatoin rooms full of Covid19, all ICU beds full of Covid19, and no place for others who needed ICU care.

If we had a President who had not promoted the spread of the virus, and had been able to send out nursing staff to all states to run converted dedicated facilities for the purpose of Covid19, then we may have had a better outcome here in Michigan. But that's not how things turned out.

In any case, Governor Whitmer has done the best job as governor here, and have not seen her make one major or even a minor mistake as of yet. She really cares about all Michiganders, except maybe those that tried to kidnap her.

We plan to vote her in for a 2nd term here in Michigan.

Not sure who "we" is, but "we" (annoyed residents of Michigan who have seen her act like a dictator, embarrass us with her foul language, and bungle everything she touches and lie about it) plan to vote her out after her first term, if she gets that far in light of all the scandals that are still being investigated.

We need to find out the true reasons as to why the Covid case numbers are rising, and combat this situation the best we can. Calmly.

It's being blamed on school sports/other school activities, but not necessarily classroom learning. Looks like restaurants have completed their tenure as public enemy #1 like gyms and hair salons already have.

Anytime the states have loosened restrictions the numbers go up
That is why to keep things closed serves no purpose
When the state reopens the numbers go up again

There are many states with no mask requirements, fully open, yet have lower Covid numbers
There economy obviously is doing better

CA has also had strict restrictions, some of the worst Covid numbers, worst unemployment rates

These strict restrictions haven’t worked
You can see the states who have had the strictest guidelines like NY, MI, CA are in worse shape then most fully functioning states

It may have more to do with the particular variants that are circulating right now and spreading, and who in the population is traveling the most and where they are going. Add to that, loosening of restrictions. It's a lousy combination. Also vaccination rates which are improving, but need to get a lot better, as quickly as possible.
