I'm not being dramatic. 2050 maps show that road won't be habitable.

How about this one in Blackstone. They bought it in Sept 2021 for 600k, and then tried putting it back on the market almost exactly 2 years later at 800k. Cut the price to 700k a week ago.

It's nice at least. I wonder though if this is commute related as to why they are selling.

I'd guess it's a very similar situation as the Norfolk house we recently discussed. Boston WFH workers forced back to the office...and they don't want to deal with the commute.

Contrary to what some on here believe, a lot of WFH people have been forced back to the office in recent months. That is absolutely a fact. It's also a fact that some of them want to shorten their commute.

Apples and oranges. We already have some "word" that the Norfolk sale was due to an out of state job transfer (as I and others were speculating between that and a family issue). But Blacktone actually is a relatively out of the way town (yes I am in a rare agreement with yesmaybe on that one), and it's also not a particularly desirable town like Norfolk is. Schools are ranked much lower. This very well could be a return to office situation.

I disagree that it's apples and oranges. I stand by what I wrote.

Recent $600K over list price sale in Westwood! I haven't seen anything go for this much over list in a long time and find it hard to believe any good realtor would intentionally be pricing their clients home by this much under market value just to drive interest up. 10 Old Stone Rd, Westwood, MA 02090 | Zillow
Previous owners made almost a full $1M profit in their 6 yrs of owning the place.

Looked at the property records in the registry and names didn't strike me as being Asian. Whoever it was did put around $700K down though....and took out ~$1.7M jumbo mortgage. I'd rather buy a $700K house for cash and have $0 mortgage!

Here's a recently sold $100K over lister (sold for $720K) basic ranch in Weymouth....20 Liberty St, Weymouth, MA 02190 | Zillow

I can't believe people are still offering $100K + over list in this high interest rate environment....these examples are not cash buys either!
