Say one of yesmaybe's tech buddies in Burlington wants a larger house for less money, they are NOT looking in Norfolk.

Respectfully, you have no idea where they're looking.

I don't agree at all. And I think it's ridiculous to say WFH people only targeted places like Cape Cod, Newport, and some weird town in New Hampshire. But we can agree to disagree.

For what it's worth (probably nothing), I spoke with the listing agent for this Norfolk house and all she mentioned was that they're moving out of state because of their job(s). Looks to be a family with 2 kids. House is in a VERY quiet area with lots of woods, nature, and a reasonable amount of families. I think Norfolk is a bit underrated - it's a pretty town. Sleepy and quiet for sure, but to some that's a plus. No idea what this family was thinking but I think they may have to accept low 800s if they really want to sell. The house is on 1.44 acres but the back yard drops down away from the house very steeply - not much area for kids to play out there. It's pretty, but let's face it, a 2800 sq foot house in a McMansion-y neighborhood is shooting to attract families.

I liked it, despite it being a bit too big. But not for the current asking price.

Maybe their new employer(s) are picking up the tab for relocation so the loss they might be taking on the sale isn't as significant a hit?

Homes like that in Norfolk might have been sought after by those from Dedham/Westwood/Norwood or Framingham type places looking for more space and quiet, but people working in Burlington or north of the city don't gravitate towards those towns. They just don't. I can see them buying out in Westford or someplace like that, but not Norfolk.
