I think your friend needs to get a life. A mask for a cat? And what happens when the cat gets caught on something? This just gets more and more ridiculous.

There’s no way my dog would be keeping a mask on. My 4 and 5 year old don’t even want to wear them.

Bridge, how is the WFH/remote learning (if you are participating--I know your kids are young) going for you? I know you were struggling, but have you found any solution that might help?

Seems ridiculous to me.
I grew up in the Massachusetts suburbs north of Boston and seeing trash strewn parking lots of strip malls was a common site. In fact my first paying job was working at a DeMoulas store. Each day one of the clerks assigned a morning/opening shift would have to go out into the parking lot with an old walk behind outdoor vaccum and go over the entire parking lot each day. I did it myself when I was assinged an opening shift on a weekend. Massachusetts people litter far more than people in New Hampshire or Maine. I've lived in all three states. People in New Hampshire and Maine have closer economic and historic ties to the land and treat it with more respect. I am comfortable believing that those discarded gloves are from people who live in Methuen, Lawrence, Haverhill, etc.

That wasn’t my take. You have to be taught to fear danger that isn’t immediately obvious. It took uncounted generations to understand the germ theory of disease. It is not something that people fear innately like, say, bears.

We’ve been told a lot of things in the past few months surrounding what to fear and I suspect some of it was likely excessive. That’s a natural byproduct of even experts not having a solid handle on transmission probability. I remember a similar set of mixed messages (albeit on a longer timescale) surrounding HIV.

I think the readable response is to take what is being said with a grain of salt. It is NOT readable, as some have done, to interpret excessive caution as malicious or borne out of a desire to “control” the population.

Is this paragraph about flatulence or gasoline?

Appreciate your input. Where I live (SW CO) there is an abundance of talk of sheeple and control people and taking orders from the governor as being taught to obey and so forth. I guess I'm a little edgy.

Comic stores are getting hit hard. Places like new England comics and Newbury comics. 90%+ of comics are distributed by one company and that stopped. The majority of sakes are still paper based. Hollywood has been fueled by superhero movies for awhile now.

"How New Zealand managed to defeat the corona virus"

Anybody still questioning the effectiveness of social distancing, seriously needs their head examined.

I gather they did very well with absolutely refusing any incoming travelers and having mandatory 14-day quarantine for arrivals.
