It's a projection of course, but, some good news, for a change. "Immunity from Moderna Inc’s COVID-19 vaccine should last at least a year, the company said on Monday at the J.P. Morgan Healthcare conference."

CT seems to be doing pretty well at that. Starting Jan 18th anyone 75 or older can schedule an appointment. It will all be done by appointment. People can call them but they will also call people, based upon records in dr's offices, social service agencies, meals on wheels, hospitals, etc. Vaccinations will be given in places like church basements and a lot of other fairly local places, maybe at the hospitals or dr's offices? If a person can't get there, someone will come to them.

They hope to get the over 75s done pretty fast because they are only 5% of the population but 60% of the cases. Then it will be on to workers like teachers and other essential workers like grocery store workers. Over 65 is probably in 1b also but the groups are pretty specific and the over 75s are not being mixed in with anyone else.

Yes, that's been my impression. CT and even NJ seem to have their act together. I'm a bit disappointed in MA. Still no communication on what the overall scheme is going to be--are individuals going to be notified, sign up, make appointments, what? Even an interview with Biddinger in today's Globe was worthless...all he did was reference the state's vaccine website with the Phases.

It's rationed. It's not possible until the supply is increased dramatically. The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine should get approval this month. It's already being mass deployed in the UK. Johnson & Johnson will hopefully receive approval in a couple of months. By April, there should be lots of vaccine unless something goes horribly wrong either with approvals or with the manufacturing process.

It's not exactly a positive but easily 40% of the country is vaccine skeptics. I'm hoping my slot in the queue gets bumped significantly as the Gwyneth Paltrow effect kicks in.

This should help speed things up: "Baker Announces Mass Vaccination Site at Gillette Stadium"... this will scale up over time, and more mass vaccination sites are in the works for Mass...

Guessing Kraft was involved at least to some degree. Like him or not that marks the 2nd time he has offered to help people in MA after acquiring something like 1 million kn95 masks towards the beginning of the pandemic.

I agree - while I don't think anyone should be above criticism, you need to be careful not to demonize people over a fault or transgression. Mr Kraft has done a number of things now that have been very helpful to Mass residents during this pandemic and deserves thanks for that. Charlie Baker did thank the Kraft family in the video on that page... he starts talking about the mass vaccination sites at about 3:20.
