Circling back to the trust in government issue, I don’t trust a politicized Trump FDA. I’ll probably get mine in Canada if they have a better option.
If 1) Canada allows Americans back in and 2) they allow an American to get a vaccine from them. This is all unless you already have dual American-Canadian citizenship.

I’ve always heard it takes at least a year to create a vaccine. At least. Maybe it could be ready in 6 months time but I’m not going to hold my breath (no pun). This is something that can’t be rushed. I know it’s been worked on, moderna is in the 3rd phase etc. I’m just skeptical that by January or in January there will be a working vaccine.

Yeah they are probably more a ploy to suck $$$ out of the government rather than an actual vaccine.

The genetic sequencing happened in January. It was released on January 12. That’s when the clock started for all the parallel projects. January 12 would be 1 year. The problem most likely won’t be the existence of a safe and effective vaccine by then. It will be scaling manufacturing to billions of injections. I’d expect it to be limited to nursing homes and front line health care workers initially.

Looks like the MA school year is getting shortened by 10 days. Delayed start date.

Our administration has messed up everything so far, from the initial test, to PPE, to re-opening, to testing and PPE now. The worst in the developed world. My worry is that we will mess up the vaccine situation, too.
