Because procedures were in effect to help with the high number of illnesses from covid-19. That number is now much smaller.

Wastewater will find anything you want it to if you look hard enough. It will tell you polio is still around or even smallpox. It doesn't mean it is spreading, it just means it finds DNA samples. Just think of millions of people and all the samples you would grab and what you would grab.

I just watched an interview with the one of the main people that started the wastewater sample thing (an't remember her name and she was out of California). There is way more to it then just finding some scrap pieces of a virus. It can easily be used as a scare tactic.

That's not a valid explanation. If you look at the wastewater link that was posted, you'll see that it was equal or lower at several different times throughout the pandemic.

Compare the state released numbers from now to the state released numbers from the many other times when wastewater was equal or lower. And then tell me I'm wrong for saying the numbers mean nothing now.

No, it will not.

It will not find smallpox because smallpox no longer exists.

It will not find polio if no polio is there.

Wastewater sampling gives a snapshot taken at the time of the sampling. It is not static and will vary from location to location.

Obviously. But that doesn't address what I wrote.

The reality is that an arbitrary date was chosen, there was a concerted effort to make sure it appeared to be the right decision, and covid fatigue has most people willing to accept it without questioning it.
