Woke up at 2pm to find the power is out.

Good old kerosine heater to the rescue.

We got a fair amount of snow in Island Falls.

Emera is down to about 3,000 outages and hopes to have power back to everybody by tomorrow. Dover Foxcroft is the hardest hit remaining. There is a high wind warning out for tomorrow night. Here is a handy link for what used to be Bangor Hydro. They are owned by a Spanish company now; Emera.

Happy Easter, everybody.

We got up to a foot of snow. A third of Maine had no power. Mow we are due for an inch of rain and high winds. Got real gas for the genny. We hit 50 yesterday. The snow is still on the ground. A hot rain is going to cause local flooding and washouts.

Well, we got our hot rain; 49 degrees and 2 inches of rain. My snow is GONE!

https://waterdata.usgs.gov/me/nwis/uv?site_no=01034500 Penobscot is rising fast

https://waterdata.usgs.gov/me/nwis/uv?site_no=01034000 Piscataquis is rising faster.

It is 50% higher than the all tie reord flood in 1940

https://waterdata.usgs.gov/me/nwis/uv?site_no=01034000

Streams in the Western Mountains are DOUBLE their all time records set in the 1940s. Lots of roads will be washed out.

PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE IN WATER TODAY!

Power went out twice, have to wait and reboot computer and reset wifi etc.

I thought maybe its a wind storm, took a look outside and theres 5 inches of snow on the deck already, its still coming down. Surprise surprise. I guess summer isn't here.

Woke up to the snow sliding off the roof.

March winds,
April blizzards,
Government has cancelled May.
What next?
