Also... don't look now but its snowing in North Carolina and Virginia and I haven't seen snow since Mid January.
We have had a couple of days recently which had highs in the single digits.....so the 30s and 40s coming for the next week will feel pretty good.
March never bothers me because you know that spring is right around the corner. (Plus the much longer days are great).

I miss actual winter with deeper snow cover and crisp cold air. The Ohio Valley gets next to no snowfall, just tons of nasty days of cloudy skies, rain, and 30s for highs, which is the worst combination.

This year the cold and snow set in a bit early....just before Thanksgiving, Three hard months! Tonight will be in the teens (still a bit above normal). Then at least a week of above normal temps. The worst is over!

We have had 97 inches of snow. Usual to date is 77. Last year we were 59 inches above normal at this time! Had late February and early March been snowier, we could have made a run at the record (which is almost 200 inches).

This will put us over 100 inches, for sure.
The Can Am 250 dog sled race starts Saturday, so they will be glad for the fresh snow. Also the snowmobilers.

It's been almost a week of temps being about 40 degrees above where they realistically COULD be at this time of year.............fantastic lead into March. And a bit of snow tomorrow night to freshen up the trails/slopes...
