Show a posts where someone is advocating for "concentration camps" for homeless.

let me guess they were also asking for branding their arms with the star of david and dressing them in striped uniforms?

That's a big problem, I've seen it in California for years, they give grants to dozens of organizations who are supposed to create housing or shelter space and the money gets spent and nothing is done, it's disgusting. The free market is great but I think when it comes to taxpayer money for homeless issues there needs to be far more oversight and accountability by local government and far fewer individual organizations involved. A few years ago I read an article about San Francisco that said they had 20 organizations receiving money for homeless services, but it was so unorganized and scattered that they didn't help but a few people, and there wasn't even one central list of applicants.

Probably in 2008 or 2009 a northern California county got a big fat HUD grant designated for finding housing for homeless people who were vets, disabled or elderly. They opened a big fancy office and no one ever answered the phone or was in the office. At the time I was trying to help a disabled guy find housing for himself and his son (he worked but only part time) He called and went to that office every day for two months and even left notes on the door, it was called "Community Action Council" and was run by a private company using federal grant money. After about 6 months the office was empty with no forwarding number or address, that is absolute BS...they were given several hundred thousand dollars to serve specific people and as far as I could tell they didn't help one single person.

Here you go and there are plenty of others who do not use the term "concentration camps"

I think society will eventually work for faster deaths and not prolonging life of the homeless. There are no shortage or workers and immigrant workers in a never ending supply. If you don't have a job...too bad for you.

One person out of nearly 700 posts.

Let's not engage in hyperbole here.

As I said there were a number of others that spoke about mandatory confinement of the homeless but did not use the word "concentration camp", I didn't look for those because I am convinced your response would have been "those posts don't use the word concentration camp" How about this, you look through the posts and prove that no one made such claims since you are the one denying their existence

You can call them whatever you want- --places for people to have a roof, a shower, food etc... using the word concentration camp only means concentrating them- if you want to let your mind wander back to WW2 go for it- Prisons are a concentration of criminals , military bases or a concentration of service personnel-- camps where people who have no intention of doing anything at all can go to a special place with a CONCENTRATION of like minded individuals- if they don't want to do anything at all , at least they will be sober- that is a form of freedom.
MANY of them have long criminal records and only wait to create more mischief and victims: once they do so, they- along with the mentally ill need to be in secured housing of some sort ASAP!
The left wing is out there daily telling these poor folks to just hang on in there till the taxpayers break down and start forking over the big bucks for free homes or apartments with all expenses paid- they could be in a nice warm barracks right now.
I feel sorry for the victims and the communities that are suffering along with these pawns of a sick left wing scheme. Trying to make good people feel bad by using buzz words just makes you look like you are looking for something better- - we will be here to welcome when you decide that you want to help us make the state GREAT AGAIN! try rooting for decency and law and order; you might like it better and it has a proven history of success as opposed to what you are currently advocating with the left wing agenda.
lets vote the current lot of politicians out and start doing the right thing again by getting these poor people off the street!

Imagine if they knew they could no longer break a variety of laws and get away with it. Rather they would be "imprisoned" in a "camp" so they could not do what they had been doing? If they can be fined according to the law, the inability to pay could require incarceration for a period of time. No drugs. no alcohol, no thieving and ... actually using a toilets THEY would have to clean.

Obviously, HUD (in reality, the tax payers) got snookered by a fly by night company. But does HUD really care? Nope. Do the politicians care? Nope.

This money is getting pocketed left and right, and instead of even a single one of these people doing this in the corrupt orgs designed to "help" the homeless going to jail, they are all laughing all the way to the bank.

We need to form another committee to 'figure out how to end homelessness'. That will be another one billion dollars please.

I think HUD gives the grants to cities or counties and that is who is distributing the money to private organizations. I just think it's a horrible idea and that local government is abdicating it's responsibility not only to the people who need the help, but to the taxpayers who foot the bill.
