How do they even compare? Miami is not much like L.A. at all. Not in size, population, weather, etc.

The work ethic is much different in both places. People will work their butts off to stay in L.A.

Workers in Florida (not just Miami but Orlando and Tampa too!!!) act like they are on vacation everyday and do as little work as possible. COL is expensive relative to wages in Florida--the prices in a Florida Publix would be a shocker to most tourists!

True, but once you get out of South FL it is a LOT better.

True, but more people also move in than move out of FL. Now Miami I am not sure about, but I would never move to LA or Miami. I enjoy life too much for either.

Is there a middle class in LA? I guess what I'm trying to say is, even though you're paid more in LA, do you get more?

Thanks!
the chances of earning more in LA is better than in Miami. if you can find a job that pays more in Miami, id say go to Miami

I don't live in LA but been to Miami for a vacation and am not impressed with it. (of course im used to manicured surroundings in South OC) drive further away frm the city and I liken it to the countryside I came from

the "scenery" at the beaches is better though than in SoCal

SoCal beaches are beautiful, but the water is cold. Miami is a place you can enjoy the beach year round which means year round "scenery".

The reason why the Los Angeles metropolitan area is very expensive and has a high cost of living is; because of high amounts of people wanting to live in the Los Angeles area. It's all about supply and demand.

why can't LA do the same? corruption? stupidity? democrats?
There are a number of new apartment high rise buildings in downtown Los Angeles that are well over half empty. Make them an offer. They might take it.
