Politicians in Oakland started this movement yesterday they are in a hurry to get the Oakland Raiders out of Oakland California As Soon As Posible. The good people of Oakland are not going to allow the Raiders to leave them more than 2 times first time LA second time Las Vegas , and they (OAKLAND RAIDERS) are the best fans in the NFL!!!
Best fans? I don't think they are the best but they sure are one of the best. I think Steeler and Packer fans are above Raider fans. That's just from experience

There are plenty of other articles about this. Oregon repealed its sports betting solely due to preferring to host NCAA events.
The NCAA point is pretty much absurd. It won't last much longer. The idea that the location of the bet would somehow tie to the purity of a college athlete is pure hogwash. Always was and now is far worse in the days of the internet.

Hell I bet all the big lotteries without ever leaving my home. And I get copies of my tickets.

'Vegas Raiders' really does sound badass tho. I bet you can already get hoodies and t-shirts and such.
Vegas Raiders, sounds badass? That what our casino resorts do to our tourists every single day: raid them blind!

Perfect name for a Las Vegas team!!!

I completely agree with you that it is absurd. It isn't going anywhere though. NCAA has threatened PASPA challenge to any state that legalizes college fantasy sports. It was just a month or so ago they banned student athletes for playing in a fantasy football league.

There is absolutely no evidence that this policy is changing. All evidence points to the opposite no matter how stupid everyone else thinks it is.

So your advice to us all is to presume the absurd will persevere?

Nah...all that will go away particularly if one pushes back. Might even be fun...

Super Bowl at least a decade out. They plan Super Bowls out 5 years in advance.

Actually theyve come around. Yes lack of time to recover, but a lot see it as a mini bye because of the 10 days until next game. And its almost always a divisional opponent, so it makes up for preparation already being familiar.

Personally I dont care for the thursday night games at all. I usually watch sundays only and may catch a MNF here and there.

If anyone wants to know of the reactions of Oaklanders to the Raider's move, check out the San-Francisco-Oakland forum, there's a thread covering it!

There are plenty of other articles about this. Oregon repealed its sports betting solely due to preferring to host NCAA events.
From the referenced newspaper article:

The NCAA rule states:

"No session of the championship may be conducted in a metropolitan area that permits legal wagering that is based upon the outcome of any event (e.g., high school, college or professional) in a sport in which the NCAA conducts a championship."

So that would rule out Division 1 FCS and lower division Football National Championship games, the NCAA Basketball tournament, and other championships run by the NCAA. The CFB Championship is fair game because it's not run by the NCAA. Bowl games and major nonconference college football games (like the current ones in Arlington and Atlanta) would also be possible.
